Clear numbers, agreed before work starts
Build budgets start from R50,000 for a guest bathroom, including VAT. Three principles govern every renovation we take on.
Your budget is for the build
Budget bands cover the work itself: materials, labour and installation, including VAT.
Your finishes set the budget
We design to the band you choose. If you select finishes or add work above that band, the budget moves to the band that fits, and we show you the new number before anything is ordered.
Our fees are separate
Design, and project management and site supervision, are each quoted as separate fees on top of the build budget, so you see exactly what you pay for.
Please note. Budget bands are a guide to typical costs, not a quote. Your price is set by a fixed, itemised quote based on the confirmed scope, the site conditions and the finishes you select. Any change to scope or finishes after the quote is accepted is priced as a variation and agreed in writing before the work is done. Amounts include VAT unless stated otherwise. Quotes are valid for 14 days. All work is carried out under MAD Design Studios Client Terms.
Frequently asked
Why are design and project management separate from the build?
Because they are different services. Design decides what is built; project management and site supervision make sure it is built right, on time and to the agreed finish. Showing each one separately means you can see the value of every part of your quote.
What if I change my mind about finishes?
You can. We price the change and confirm the new total, and the band it falls in, before anything is ordered. Nothing changes without your written approval.
Is the site measure free?
No. It is a paid visit by a designer, and the fee is credited to your design fee when you go ahead with the renovation.
My project is bigger than a renovation. Can you help?
Yes. Projects over R1.5 million, or that need plans and council approval, are handled by our architects.
